What is the VR Nanodegree?

Why Take the VR Developer Nanodegree?

Virtual Reality (VR) sounds like science fiction, but it’s actually already happening today, in a big way!

VR lets you experience real or simulated places “as if you were there”. Using state of the art display and computing technology, you don’t just look at content, but actually step inside.

Investment in VR technology and products is at an all-time high, and so is the demand for VR developers. Now is the time to learn the skills needed to make high-quality virtual reality experiences yourself!

What Will You Build?

During the VR Developer Nanodegree program, you will build a portfolio of projects to showcase your new skills. Each of these projects will be reviewed by certified Udacity project reviewers who will give you personalized, detailed feedback.

You will learn the foundations of VR as we cover 3D scenes, script programming, a little bit of science, a little math, and a whole lot about how to create great VR from scratch. By paying extra attention to VR design, we will explore what makes a VR experience compelling, comfortable, easy to use, and immersive.

What Else?

As a part of the Udacity VR community, you will also have the opportunity to participate in the TEAMWORKS group project initiative. This is an optional, but strongly recommended, component of the VR Developer Nanodegree program that will help you improve your skills as a VR developer, make your portfolio stand out from the crowd, and become job-ready for the VR industry.

During TEAMWORKS you will work with other current and past students to plan, execute, and present a complete VR project that will be showcased on the Udacity VR website and potentially promoted through other Udacity social media channels.

TEAMWORKS happens roughly once per quarter but has no set schedule, so to not miss out, make sure you watch your email as this is the main channel of communication for the TEAMWORKS group project initiative.
